I really would like to focus my efforts on Chesterfield so I can engage with the community on a personal level. And it makes the most sense because that is where I live with my wife and baby son. Everything we need is right here in Chesterfield. It's a beautiful city with great homes, thriving businesses, and amenities! It's also the perfect town to detail in with a low rainfall, spacious driveways, and affluent families.

Where do you perform the service?

I go to residences in the Chesterfield valley area, the Gumbo Flats, 63017 and 63005 zip codes. Almost all the homes I have seen around here are a good fit because I can perform the service right in the driveway.

How long does it take?

About 45 or 90 minutes depending on if you have an interior or full plan. I am really efficient and can get the car looking really spruced up in this time frame.

Why do you like detailing?

I love taking care of my client's car. I love taking that weight off their shoulders knowing that they have a clean car to get to where they need to go. The service is really about preparation and mental fitness, it's about being on top of things. But I try to be practical about it too... instead of spending all day on a car... because a clean car is just the backdrop; it's not the feature presentation.

But aren't you not even a car guy?

I am probably not your classic car guy like in the way you would think of someone who knows much more detailed information especially with respects to the engine and controls, but I am a big car person in other ways. I was the first one in my high school class to own a car. I am also a very self-motivated person so I really share that with the automotive industry in general. Automotive is quickly adopting a technology company mindset so in that sense it fits right in with who I am.

What was your first car?

A 1998 Nissan Altima. The black leather seats, black paint, and black tint made it feel like a luxury car to me, especially when I was 16. It had Bose surround sound speakers and a sunroof, so I pretty much wanted it as soon as I saw it. My mom split a 2k downpayment with me and then loaned me the other $5k which I paid off in monthly installments. It was my first major purchase.

What are your favorite car brands?

You can probably get a good idea based on the photos I take, but I like BMW, Tesla, and Kia.

Did you say you were from New England?

Yep, grew up on the east coast but I moved here to study at Washington University.

What else do you have in the works?

I want to make Fresh Start the go-to for anything automotive. I want to deliver convenience like the automotive industry has never seen before. When you can get your car cleaned and windshield blades replaced and tire pressure filled all right in your own driveway, I think that is a win and a time-saver for a lot of people.
